Software Simulation is a new game that allows you to be the president of your own software company! In this game, you can make 27 different types of software. The types range from personal CD creation software to a simulation game to a new word processor. You can select the complexity of the product and any products you make can be used in your company! For example, if you need image software, you can make professional image software and use it for a game or clip art in a spreadsheet program.
Software Simulation also allows you to hire many kinds of employees and decide which type of office they go into. The employees you can hire include: programmers, art designers, sound makers, marketing people, receptionists, etc... Each employee affects the company in a different way. Plus, there are many things that you can do that affect how the employees work. For example, the ability to set the marketing budget. This affects how well your products are being marketed by the marketing employees. There are numerous ways to distribute the software you make in Software Simulation. The options are adware, freeware, shareware, sell it in a store, and public domain. If your software is good, it should be placed in the store. If it's not too good, the stores won't accept it and you'll have to resort to another method of distribution. Your company's objective is simple: have more money than the competitors by the end of 2000 days or any day you set. You have been chosen to beat the existing software companies. Do you accept? Software Simulation is covered under the CDL and requires Microsoft® Windows® 9x, ME, 2000, NT, or XP to run. Note that this program is licensed under the CDL despite what it may say otherwise. Don't worry though, CompuDav originally created this software, unfortunately over the one and a half years of existence, tweaking, and modification, the source code has been fragmented and some of it has been lost.
